Flooding in Canada: Educational Resources on Flooding

In partnership with Canadian Geographic and The Royal Canadian Geographical Society, Partners for Action has developed educational resources on flooding in Canada to raise awareness among Canadian youth in grades 5-12. Canadian Geographic has a long history and strong reputation for creating engaging and educational resources. These inquiry-based and bilingual resources are available to all Canadian educators and will not only encourage students to become more prepared for floods, but also to learn the geography of floods and the wide-reaching impact that they have in Canada

Kid’s Activity Booklet

The kid’s activity booklet is a great way for children to learn more about flooding. The activities in this booklet will help teach kids about flooding, and how to prepare with their families, such as by building an emergency kit and by making an emergency plan.

Many organizations working on flood resiliency encourage families to build an emergency kit and to make a plan because it teaches kids about preparing for emergencies, reduces stress for parents and kids, and makes people feel empowered.
